Support Cardiac Risk in the Young’s screening programme

I have a family history of high blood pressure. Does that matter?

Hypertension or a high blood pressure is usually familial, cheap by that I mean it runs in families. If you have a parent that has high blood pressure, there’s a very high chance that that individual will develop high blood pressure. High blood pressure is an important problem because it can cause stroke, it can cause heart failure and it can cause heart attacks.
It’s generally a disorder of people aged 40 plus so it doesn’t usually come in within our range but someone who’s got a family history of high blood pressure should go to the General Practitioner to have their blood pressure measured because correction of blood pressure significantly reduces the risk of morbidity that goes with it.
